Imagine a world where all humans were flourishing because that was the purpose of education.

This is the dream and vision which Humanitas exists to fulfill, and the unique contribution which is ours to make.

​

We collaborate broadly and widely with others who believe education can and should be so much more than it currently is.  Together we are the active visionaries who believe education is a sacred trust, given by God to us, for the benefit of a flourishing humanity.

Our preferred partners are the community colleges, the informal network, the ecosystem of education which, in many ways, serves as the "mycelium" of higher education in America.

​

No community college in the United States has ever been built with human flourishing as its explicit founding philosophy.  No community college anywhere currently centers human flourishing as its reason for being. 

 

We intend to change that with the company of others.

​

We believe community college education, reimagined around a fundamental reorganization for human flourishing, rather than mere credentialing, is key to the future of community college education and the unique contribution it can make to the American higher education ecosystem at large.

​

And we believe that the purpose of the community college of the future is not merely to credential workers or transfer students, but to help human being flourish -  and that this mission, far from being impractial, actually will produce better outcomes on every metric that matters.

​

This vision is bold and imaginative.  It is also appropriate for our times.  The realities of the 21st century demand new models of education which are purposed in human flourishing and the sustainability of our humanity.

Said succinctly, education needs to change.

We are collaborating with others to bring about such change in the future of community college education in America.  We believe community colleges are a hidden gem of opportunity, that when repurposed around a vision for human flourishing, will take a central role in leading the radical renewal of higher education.

The 21st century demands it.  The human soul desires it.

The time for change in education is now!
