Frequently Asked Questions
Great question. By ourselves we are not a college in the societal expression of that word. But we collaborate with others who are collegiate, whether college or university. Â

Our preference is the local community college. But it's not a restriction or limitation.Â

We are a Human Flourishing Academy. In this sense we are a new category or offering in the space of higher education.  We are not a 2 year offering. We are not a 4 year offering.Â
Time is not what defines us. Purpose is.
Our curriculum exists at the intersection of human flourishing and historical wisdom traditions. From there, we embrace Jesus Mysticism and offer a particular focus on rediscovering the ancient wisdom of Jesus.

The need for this kind of work warrants that which is new and different.
We offer college-level learning for being fully human. We do so through "Common Good Education" and our new discipline or field of study called, "Humanpreneurship."

Collaborating with traditional institutions in higher education, with a preference for community colleges, we offer what today's community college does not have. In return, today's community college offers what Humanitas does not have.  Think of it as radical collaboration for the benefit of humanity.

Together, we envision and are building a community college of the future!Â

We call this the "New American Community College."

How fun is that?  :)
This is such a great question. Thank you for asking!

Humanitas thinks about Jesus as one who came to restore what it means to be fully human, as designed by God.

In this sense we are restored and being restored to Gods original intent for us. Individually. Societally. Â

We view and pursue Jesus for the purpose of being fully human. We embrace Jesus Mysticism and would consider ourselves to be Jesus Mystics.

For those who like big words, our focus and understanding of Jesus is anthropological rather than ecumenical.

This shift or reframe is very significant. It is our "why?" for offering the work we do.

Our understanding of Jesus puts Him in the infinite expanse of being fully human. Â

To pursue Jesus is to be rooted in love, resting in peace, and rejoicing in Life -Â the mystery, transcendence and adventure of being fully human.

All of this needs to be taught and experienced.Â
Thus, our curriculum, "Common Good Education." Thus our creation of a new discipline or field of study, "Humanpreneurship."Â
We don' t pretend to have all the answers. But we are asking different questions. Thus our reason for collaboration with others.  :)
A great question! Notice the three components of Love, Peace, and Life. These are the 3 foundational pillars supporting Humanitas as a Human Flourishing Academy.

Human flourishing is happening to the extent our lives are rooted in love, resting in peace, and rejoicing in life. This must happen at the level of the individual first before it shows up and impacts society.

Significantly, the ancient Wisdom of Jesus supplies and supports all three of these. But teaching is required!

This is why we are creating a new discipline, field of study which is appropriate for the realities of our 21st century world and the longings of the human soul.
Humanpreneurship is the integration of deep discipleship or study of Jesus with entrepreneurship for human beings.Â
Humanpreneurship is designed to help people human. This happens to the extent our lives are intersecting with love, peace, and life - supplied by God.
Thus the significance of our logo. Rooted in Love. Resting in Peace. Rejoicing in Life. Â

Our foundation for answering this question, "Got Human?"

Who would not want this? :)
Yes. Thank you for asking. Â

Broadly speaking, Common Good Education is about turning research into resources for the human flourishing of the common good.

Human flourishing is a big, broad concept, with many players offering their wares.  Our uniqueness is the pursuit of human flourishing as informed by historical Wisdom traditions. Â

While this may not be to everyone's liking, it is something we are making available for everyone. It's Rated E for everyone!

Thus, the name, "Common Good Education."
Yes. Another good question.

Humanpreneurship is our signature or flagship offering under Common Good Education - turning research into resources for the human flourishing of the common good.

Humanpreneurship is the seamless integration of deep, intentional study of the person of Jesus with entrepreneurship for human beings. This is a fresh, new space of study, research, and knowledge creation. It is a new academic discipline, area of study which we are creating.

We refer to this as The Human Equation.  Â

Humanpreneurship = Discipleship/Study of Jesus + Entrepreneurship for Humans

Who is the study of Humanpreneurship for? Everyone who is open to learning from Jesus what it means to be fully human.
